| SUNY Morrisville Dairy Barn Complex Morrisville, New York Currently under construction Renovation LEED Gold Certification The State University of New York at Morrisville started its history as a junior college specializing in agriculture. The Campus has changed considerably since then and now offers 4-year degrees for various subjects. In a unique design twist, and in keeping with the wishes of the alumni, Hueber-Breuer was selected as the General Contractor to demolish the existing dairy barn facility and in its place construct an architectural design center. This new facility, that reflects the outline of the existing barn, incorporates large open classrooms where architects of tomorrow learn the nuances of design and structure. The project is being constructed to LEED Gold requirements and incorporates the following sustainable designs: Geothermal Low Albedo roof surfaces Construction waste management Certified wood Recycled content Regional materials Construction IAQ Plan - during construction and before occupancy Low emitting materials - VOC |
