| Emerson Hill Residence Halls Hobart and William Smith Colleges Construction Management Hobart and William Smith Colleges in Geneva, NY is an institution that understands the best way to implement complex construction projects is by engaging a Construction Management firm during the Schematic Design Phase. Hueber-Breuer worked with the design professionals and HWS from day 1 on this $9.4 M two facility project. The structure of the two, four story, residence halls comprised of cast-in-place foundations, precast plank, masonry façade, light gauge trusses, and curtain wall glazing systems. In addition, the design called for specialty building materials such as slate roofs, alucobond metal panels, slate walls (at vestibules), and maple wall paneling. Each residence hall houses 88 students in 20 singles, 24 doubles, and 5 quads. The rooms offer separate temperature controls for each room, with forced air heating and air conditioning. All rooms are equipped with telephone, internet access, and cable. The residence halls included multi-functional first floor common spaces. The programming included recreational areas (pool tables, foosball tables, and dart boards), exercise room, dance studio, starbuck’s café, kitchens, laundry facilities, and vending machines. |
