Dineen College of Law
Dineen Hall unifies the law department at Syracuse University with an award winning design in tended to set a standard for future projects surrounding it. Features include a 300-seat ceremonial courtroom, 36,000 square-foot library, 5 tiered lecture halls, 2 small lecture halls, 8 seminar rooms, a teaching courtroom, offices, suites, a law clinic, and a café with seating for 80.
Site logistics – the building footprint encompassed 95% of the site and was surrounded by adjacent streets and a parking garage. All facets of construction activities were performed without disrupting the functions of adjacent facilities such as the Carrier Dome, VA Hospital, and parking garages. Aggressive schedule – required extensive focus on sequence in order to avoid issues with winter conditions. Hueber-Breuer managed a fixed budget on a high end, complex facility that was not completely designed until close to the completion of construction. Use of self-consolidating concrete for architectural features required resourceful means and methods.
