In earnest pursuit of their Phase I goals, St. Joseph’s Hospital engaged the Construction Management services of Hueber-Breuer to plan and construct this project in partnership with the hospital’s design professionals. There were a multitude of significant challenges in constructing this multi-phased project at the hospital’s front door without interruption to patient/visitor access and hospital services. It required careful planning, including a critical path schedule for placing weather sensitive micro-silica concrete in the cast-in-place post-tensioned garage structure, planning and constructing a temporary main entrance, and modifying traffic patterns in coordination with city and hospital officials.

The completion of the garage relieves the high demand for parking on the hospital campus and provides convenient connection to the hospital via a pedestrian bridge. The three-story Medical Office Centre constructed on top of the seven-level parking garage allows easy patient access to physicians’ offices.
