St. Joseph’s Hospital – Emergency Department
St. Joseph’s Health is a non-profit regional healthcare system based in Syracuse, N.Y., providing services to patients throughout Central New York. With a volume of over 26,000 inpatient discharges and over 601,000 outpatient encounters last year, St, Joseph’s healthcare campus values delivering award-winning care and working with partners who understand value.
In 2012, Hueber-Breuer was selected to deliver St. Joseph’s new Emergency Department. The new Emergency Services Building, which opened in 2012, is a state-of-the-art facility. It was part of a $220 million hospital expansion that included a patient tower with private rooms, new operating room suites, intensive care unit, data center and kitchen. It is one of the largest “green” health care construction projects in New York state.
The new Emergency Services Building houses 54 patient exam rooms in the ED. The new Emergency Department is three times the size of the old with 54 patient exam rooms, skylight, windows, separate entrances for ambulance and walk-in patients, psychiatric emergency department, nutritional services, cafe, and a second-floor 15-bed observation unit.
